WHERE THE WEARY FIND REST IN THE FINISHED WORK OF JESUS CHRIST
Recognizing the Gospel as the foundation of our new life in Christ, we structure our service to be a proclamation of this Gospel. Our worship is grouped into the following sections that bring us to the Gospel: Call to Worship, Law, Gospel, Table and Benediction
CALL TO WORSHIP
We start with a proclamation of God:
His character, His perfections and His actions

Pastor: reading from Exodus 15
Pastor: “The word of the Lord”
Congregation: “Thanks be to God”
Prayer of Invocation

Congregation: “Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen”
♪Doxology
Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below
Praise Him above ye heav’nly host
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost
Amen
♪Psalm 8
When I look at Your heavens
The moon and stars you set in motion, O God
I sing all glory and honor
What is man that You are mindful
The Son of Man that You would care for
Him We sing all glory and honor
Chorus:
O Lord, our Lord
Oh, how awesome are Your ways
How majestic is Your name in all the earth O Lord, our Lord
May we see Your kingdom come
Father, may Your will be done in all the earth
In all the earth you gave dominion
To Your children and You crowned them, O God
With all glory and honor
So we’ll sing of Your name
Live our lives for your greatness, O God and your glory and honor
[Chorus]
The earth is full of the glory of God
Come make much of the name above all names
Creation cries out and every knee bows
Jesus, we cry, O Lord our Lord (2x)
[Chorus]
The Law
In light of the character of God, we recognize our sin, our unworthiness, and our desperate need.

“Then God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before Me.”
Exodus 20:1-3
Pastor: “The word of the Lord”
Congregation: “Thanks be to God”
Heidelberg Catechism Q. 94
Pastor: “What does God require in the first Commandment?”
Congregation: “That on peril of my soul’s salvation, I avoid and flee all idolatry, sorcery, enchantments, invocation of saints or of other creatures; and that I rightly acknowledge the only true God, trust in Him alone, with all humility and patience expect all good from Him only, and love, fear and honor Him with my whole heart; so as rather to renounce all creatures than to do
the least thing against His will.”
Heidelberg Catechism Q. 95
Pastor: “What is idolatry?
Congregation: “Idolatry is to conceive or have something else on which to place our trust instead of, or besides the one true God who has revealed Himself in His Word.”
Confession of Sin
Pastor: “Let’s bear one another’s burdens as we draw near to the throne of Grace and confess our sins.”
Congregation: “Almighty Father, in light of our salvation in Christ, we ask you to have mercy on us and forgive our sins. Renew us through your Spirit and lead us to put sin to death and live holy lives. Amen.”
♪Kyrie Eleison

Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy
Hear our cry and pardon us
Let kindness lead us to repentance
Bring us back again
For your name is great and your heart is grace
Kyrie Eleison
Over all you reign you alone can save
Kyrie Eleison
Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy on us now
Who is this God who pardons all our sin
So ready to forgive
You delight to show your mercy (2x)
For your name is great and your heart is grace
Kyrie Eleison
Over all you reign you alone can save
Kyrie Eleison
Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy on us now
The Gospel
By Grace, God has not left us in our need. He has revealed himself to us and provided forgiveness of our sins, reconciliation to himself and new life.
Pastor: “Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for My holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you went. I will vindicate the holiness of My great name which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD,” declares the Lord GOD, “when I prove Myself holy among you in their sight. For I will take you from the nations, gather you from all the lands and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. You will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers; so you will be My people, and I will be your God.”
Ezekiel 36: 22-28
Pastor: “The word of the Lord”
Congregation: “Thanks be to God”
Pastor: “Do you believe this good news? That though we’re filthy, He displayed the glory of His redeeming love- by washing us- declaring us clean in Jesus Christ?
Congregation: “We believe.”
♪O God of Mercy, Hear Our Plea
O God, we’ve seen Your faithfulness
You brought us from the wilderness
But now our faith is frail and weak
O God of mercy, hear our plea
When will You comfort our distress
How long until the promised rest
We cry to You from the deepest need
O God of mercy, hear our plea
Abba, Father, our Redeemer
In this barren land be our hope and strength
Until glory we will trust and sing
Abba, Father, hear our plea
We join creation’s longing groan
To take Your ransomed children home
For then the eyes of all will see
The God of mercy hears our plea
♪O Praise the Name
I cast my mind to Calvary
Where Jesus bled and died for me
I see His wounds, His hand, His feet
My Savior on that cursed tree
His body bound and drenched in tears
They laid Him down in Joseph’s tomb
The entrance sealed by heavy stone
Messiah still and all alone
O praise the name of the Lord, our God
O praise His name forevermore
For endless days we will sing Your praise
Oh Lord, oh Lord, our God
Then on the third at break of dawn
The Son of heaven rose again
O trampled death where is your sting
The angels roar for Christ the King
O praise the name of the Lord, our God
O praise His name forevermore
For endless days we will sing Your praise
Oh Lord, oh Lord, our God
He shall return in robes of white
The blazing sun shall pierce the night
And I will rise among the saints
My gaze transfixed on Jesus’ face
O praise the name of the Lord, our God
O praise His name forevermore
For endless days we will sing Your praise
Oh Lord, oh Lord, our God
Confessing the Faith

Congregation: “I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
Amen.”
-Apostles Creed
Reading of the passage
Pastor: “It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.”
Galatians 5:1
Pastor: “The word of the Lord”
Congregation: “Thanks be to God”
The Table
We come to the table to see the gospel made tangible
♪ Communion Hymn
Behold the Lamb who bears our sins away
Slain for us, and we remember
The promise made that all who come in faith
Find forgiveness at the cross
So we share in this bread of life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of peace
Around the table of the King
The body of our Savior Jesus Christ
Torn for you, eat and remember
The wounds that heal the death that brings us life
Paid the price to make us one
The blood that cleanses every stain of sin
Shed for you, drink and remember
He drained death’s cup that all may enter in
To receive the life of God
So we share in this bread of life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of peace
Around the table of the King
And so with thankfulness and faith
We rise to respond, and to remember
Our call to follow in the steps of Christ
As His body here on earth
As we share in His suffering
We proclaim, Christ will come again
And we’ll join in the feast of heaven
Around the table of the King
Around the table of the King
The Lord’s Prayer
Pastor: “In light of all we’ve been so freely given, lets respond together with full hearts- by praying as the Lord taught us”
Congregation: “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”
Benediction
Our gratitude for what God has done for us urges us to go forth in obedience, proclaiming that same Gospel we received.
Pastor: “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.’ And let the one who hears say, ‘Come.’ And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost. He who testifies to these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming quickly.”
Congregation: “Amen. Come Lord Jesus.”
Pastor: “We have delivered to you as of first importance what we also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.”
Congregation: “Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond- servants to depart in peace, according to Your word; for our eyes have seen Your salvation, which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light of revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.
Pastor: reading from Ephesians 3:14-19
